Meet Sean Rivas
Experienced Leadership for a Prosperous
San Fernando

Sean M. Rivas is a proud San Fernando Resident with over a decade of experience serving the Northeast Valley community in various volunteer and leadership roles. He works for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation & Parks. At the age of 17, Sean began his community involvement with a local neighborhood council. That sparked his interest in advocacy and gave him experience in building community partnerships. Since then, he has led community events and organizations which have helped to shape welcoming and well resourced communities. He continues to offer his personal, professional and volunteer experience to support the community. In his free time he likes to root on the LA Dodgers, and spend quality time with friends and family.

Putting Community First: City Hall must work for everyone—not just the loudest voices or special interests. I will prioritize open communication, accessible leadership, and community-driven decision-making. Residents deserve to be informed, heard, and respected.

Public Safety with Compassion: Everyone deserves to feel safe in their neighborhoods. I support public safety strategies that are effective, community-based, and rooted in respect for civil rights. Safety is not just enforcement—it’s also clean streets, well-lit neighborhoods, youth engagement, and strong community partnerships.

Standing Up for Immigrant & Working Families: San Fernando is home to many immigrant and working families who are the backbone of our city. I will always stand up for policies that protect families, defend dignity, and ensure city resources are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to all residents—regardless of background or status.

Strong Neighborhoods & Smart Growth: We need thoughtful development that strengthens our neighborhoods without displacing residents. I will support responsible growth that creates local jobs, protects renters and homeowners, improves infrastructure, and preserves the character of our city.

Investing in Youth, Seniors & Families: Our future depends on how we invest today. I will advocate for expanded youth programs, safe parks, quality recreation, and services that support seniors and families. When we invest in people, we strengthen the entire community.

Honest, Accountable Government: Trust in government matters. I am committed to ethical leadership, fiscal responsibility, and transparency. Every dollar should be spent wisely, and every decision should reflect the best interests of the community—not politics.
